Certificate in Volunteer Management or related post secondary diploma or equivalent qualifications and/or experience. Knowledge of evolving standards and best practices in volunteer management in Ontario and Canada. A minimum of 2 years experience in voluteer recruitment and coordination, combined with personal experience as a volunteer. Computer and database management Knowledge of health and safety legislation. Knowledge of Sage 50 an asset.

Detail |
Working closely with colleagues, such as the Construction Manager and ReStore Manager, the incumbent will identify evolving organizational needs and develop relevant volunteer positions and descriptions. Proactively promote the volunteer requirements of the organization across the Halton Region and, where appropriate for the recruitment of skilled Halton residents, beyond its borders. Recruitment requirements include construction workers, ReStore retail specialities, office workers, committee members and various skills relevant to an assortment of specialty functions and projects, including assistants to help in the coordination and continuing development of the volunteer programme. Develop and implement appropriate volunteer retention and recognition strategies. Maintain and/or oversee all volunteer communitcation. Report regularly on outcomes, including measurements against the annual plan. Develop an annual business plan and budgetary requirements to ensure the needs of the organization will be met and exceeded, including participating collaboratively in the development of the organization's annual plan. |
